Ironstock 2004 was a lot of fun, of course. How could it not be when Ralph and Mel put forth so much heart into it? It is a very cool event-especially dealing with all these people who have such passion for halloween. The first two pictures are of Ironman shooting t-shirts into a crowd of exited receivers. They could have just given them out or thrown them into the crowd, but no, they had some cool air powered contraption that shot the items high and far :) I also took a few pix of some homemade coffin cars which, as you can see, are really neat! And a few more creepy treasures. Attendees are very enthusiastic about the event-they decorate their cars, make t-shirts, bring props and all kinds of goodies they've made or that they treasure. Some links
to companies attending the show Saturday night, at this years Weasel Ball, the wonderful Kity (with much love, stress and effort :) )organized a fashion show. LIX entered a few items along with a few other companies and designers-none of which I have info for regrettably (please email me with info if you have any) oh except GORE GALORE PARADE OF FATAL FASHIONS Designer

items. These are items that I carry at the shop. I do not make any
of the designs. I believe that the other fashion show entries are from
people who DO make the designs so make sure you give them credit for their
awesome creations! More Weasel
Ball pix! Lots of great costumes And
super-delicious eyeball treats! I am stealing this idea!!! Here are
pictures from the centerpiece contest. The winner was the horse drawn
hearse. It was actually electric and you might even see it on ebay if you
look ;) We ate at Caper's again!!!
Yum Yum! It was a great time at Ironstock but we didn't let it end there. Over the weekend, Andrew and I got to know Kevin Alvey a little, the brains and guts behind Gore Galore. His dwelling was pretty much on the way home for us so I asked him if he wanted to join us for dinner. We not only got a free dinner (thanks again Kevin), we also got to see where the magic happens! His home, a late 1800's 2 story (if there was a basement, I didn't see it) cool house that looks like the one in New Orleans from the Beyond movie (see picture below of me trying to look like the blind girl). There are monsters right when you walk in. There are body parts, corpses, molds and monster pieces all over the place. But very organized, I might add. Kevin gave us a new rearview mirror adornment, a piece of gross, bloody flesh hanging from a fish hook. It looks great in the LIX-mobile. And there were some monsters in the living area as well, two adorable kitties! Andrew and I would like to thank Kevin again for the visit. It is an honor to get to see the home of these awesome creations. Here is the contact info
for Kevin and Gore Galore |
