NEW JERSEY
METALFEST I never thought I would long for Asbury Park until this weekend. . . The three day fest included some big names like Deicide, Rotting Christ, Nile, Overkill and so many more. The Cricket Club had to cancel its big Friday and Saturday night disco events in exchange for metalfest (shouldn't that have been a sign that maybe this wasn't the correct venue for this event?). Apart from losing money, working 3-14 hour days, getting lost repeatedly and driving around a cesspool called "Irvington, New Jersey", my crew and I had a good time. On this trip I brought the big guy, Chris, and two wonderful ladies; Maria and Kirsten. Maria and Kirsten are totally into the metal scene. Hopefully they got to spend enough time admiring some of their favorite bands. I didn't get to see many bands but when I did I took my camera. Below are some pix from Blood Storm and Rotting Christ
Random crowd pix including Maria rockin out and some 1/2 naked chick and some kid holding her ears in pain Jill with friends-new
and used ;) We had a TV/VCR hooked
up to show such wonderful movies as NEKROMANTIK, BATTLE ROYALE, VERSUS, Our crew with some band
members like John fromVehemence and Rich from Fleshgrind Ours was
a great vendor room We had the wonderful
Sabe with his weapon. I beg you to try to rip him off-he loves his
baton! And next to
us we had the crew from MetalWarProductions
and Blood Storm. Chris from Blood Storm is one great guy. He's most
appreciative of his fans and supporters. He is also very knowledgeable
about horror films which I greatly appreciated. And this year I met Chuck,
the bass player from Blood Storm. Chuck was awesome to chat with even if
he is afraid of Goobers. And a big congratulations to Blood Storm on their
endorsement from CAD!!!! Crash
Music reps from Diamond Rexx And look how excited I
am to have some repeat customers!!! A couple kik ass chicks
who bought a Tortured Soul, Missi and Stormy Kirsten and Maria enjoy
the fest, working and hanging out and watching the bands Back at the refuge we
ate lots of free food. Thursday night we arrived early enough to take
advantage of some goodies including warm cookies. Francis was the first in
line but Chris took his plate away Thursday night we met up
with Damien (Living Dead Dolls creator) in NYC. We did a little shopping
and almost fell asleep standing up. It was fun and very good to see
Damien! Here is Chris's method
of "securing" items to the roof of the suburban. Well at least
if the dirty socks are attaching the crap to the roof then they're not stinking
up the truck! And this. . . this is
the most beautiful picture in existence. Is it legal to sue the state of New Jersey for gas money, toll money and mental stress due to their lack of accuracy in signing roadways or just lack of signing at all? We spent hours lost as well as many other fest attendees I'm sure. Next year its Asbury Park or I'll be staying in Illinois |
